Hello. My name is Chris Walton and I am the Head Teacher of Woodlands Primary School.

I have been a Head Teacher since 2003 and the Head Teacher at Woodlands since 2006. Previous to this I was an assistant head teacher and inclusion leader. I have a BA degree, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education, a Master in Inclusive Education and Leadership, the qualification of the International Leadership and Management Program and am a trained OFSTED inspector.

I believe that all children, wherever they are from and whatever their beliefs, religions, abilities should be included in mainstream schools and be provided with an excellent education. I aim to achieve this at Woodlands through developing all aspects of the school to ensure that children reach their potential and are empowered to be successful life-long learners and be able to have all the skills necessary for them to be successful in our ever-changing multi-cultural society.

I believe that, at primary school children should benefit from a nurturing environment with clear boundaries that enables them to progress well within all aspects of the curriculum, but in particular within their basic skills in maths, reading, writing and speaking and listening. My aim, and that of my team, is to make Woodlands the best school in Leeds. We will not stop until this is the case.
